Book Review, "The Ultimate Book on Stock Market Timing: Solar/Lunar Correlations to Short Term Trading Reversals" by Raymond A. Merriman. MMA Publications. ISBN: 0-930706-29-3. Softcover, 241 pages, $95.00.

Ray has added another jewel to the collection of books he has written on Financial Astrology for traders. Ray did a brilliant, well thought out and well documented study. The hypothesis is: "There is a correlation between certain Solar-Lunar sign combinations and 4% or greater swings in the stock markets." The study was done using the MMA FAR for the Galactic Trader Program, designed per Ray’s criteria. There are three indices covered in the study: Dow Jones Industrial Average, NASDAQ Composite, and the Nikkei. The study covered 60 years of data for the DJIA, and 16 – 18 years for the NASDAQ and Nikkei. The methodology and the reasoning behind this methodology are explained very clearly. The year has been divided into the 12 Sun Signs, and the highest probability and lowest probability for a reversal of 4% or more is listed for Moon, Mercury and Venus pairings with each Sun Sign.

For quick reference, and added clarity, there is a section at the end of each section called. "Traders’ Advisory." The reversal dates are taken a step further, with sections for each Sun Sign on "Crest Correlations" and "Trough Correlations." The 12 chapters on each Sun sign are followed by chapters devoted to further analysis of Mercury and Venus, respectively. The study is then followed up with a chapter on the ‘Short Term Trading Methodology.’ Ray gives the reader step by step instructions for how to trade using the information in the preceding chapters, including 16 "Step by Step Rules for This Information." An illustrative example of how a trade worked in real-time follows, hence giving the reader a complete trading system, too. Whether you are a trader in search of an added edge, or an astrologer with an interest in research, this book is a valuable addition to your library.
